11 posts and I'm now a known member. So the 15 thing is wrong. Onward and upwards to more power and control!!!

Hi Clive, errr, that's been common knowledge for a while.

Seriously though, glad you made it over. Are you still boffing up on solar systems - it seems there's some new tech on the horizon that might see good improvements for 'our' purposes.

Touché. I could have worded that better I suppose, or maybe not!

My AGM batteries seem to work well, certainly they were a good price but I might be tempted to go for LiFePo sooner rather than later as much for their discharge properties as the weight and space savings. They give an almost constant voltage across 80% of their rated capacity and you can discharge them fully without shortening their life as much as with lead acid. Also being able to fully charge them in a few hours without that long period of getting the last little bit of charge into lead acid to keep them from losing capacity fast would be a big advantage.

Let me know what this breakthrough technology is, I really need to get the truck sorted but some bugger has parked an old Merc in the space I was hoping to use.

Clive, for those of us that don't know you (you're obviously already "kown" by some), how about a quick introduction post, particularly if you are the Solar system Guru that Steve alludes to...

and Brian's @Brian G. Reynolds recently come upon what appears to be newer tech - hopefully he'll pop up soon and take due credit for the link. I haven't had time to look at it critically yet but times seem to be changing.

Not me being clever and finding the article.... Simon C. forwarded it to me, and me to you....

I thought it was a good article....

Interesting, good link dude. I have been following the Lithium craze, its one of the main reasons the Chinese have been buying up a lot of Australias mines/land. They are sucking it dry, next is Chile, they got the biggest reserves and China are in there. Chile has no money, its asking the US/FED, along with the IMF who approved 24 billion in $ - This is all about taking control of the Lith reserves, China has given Chile just under 4 billion $, but that won't cut the mustard. The US and China will rape Chile come the end game.

I won't talk about Zim, that is pangolins under the table and everything else through the front door!

Here is a link to the new gold - https://www.statista.com/statistics/268790/countries-with-the-largest-lithium-reserves-worldwide/

The right ups seem quite good on its performance. I don't know but do you need to be careful with promos?

It looks like they only do one size of panel, so size would be one consideration, also if it would be suitable for use on a vehicle, I don't know much, sorry, I know zilch on how far they take testing.
